The First Thanksgiving

I had to take a minute from my Pre-Thanksgiving agenda to share this with you.

Today before her nap, I was "retelling" (in very basic terms) this story to Gracie about the first Thanksgiving...

so we get to this page about how Samoset, the friendly Indian, comes to meet the Pilgrims for the first time....

and here is our conversation:

Me: "Look, this is a friendly Indian, his name is Samoset, he is telling the Pilgrims not to be afraid."

Gracie: "Mom, where are his clothes?"

Me: "Well... I don't think the Indians liked to wear many clothes, probably so it would be easier for them to hunt."

Gracie: "oh, well maybe the Pilgrims will get hime some clothes for Christmas."
