An "early" Easter

I have to share this great conversation between me and the girls last night on our way home from church:

Gracie: "Mom, since we just went to Easter church, does that mean its Easter?"

Me: "Well, we are so lucky because we get to celebrate Easter early."

Allie: "why" (because this is ALL she knows how to say right now)

Me: "Because mommy works at church so we get to celebrate Easter early"

Allie: "why"

Gracie: (before I could even interject) "Because we already know so much about Easter, so mommy is going to church to help other people learn about it."

I LOVE these girls, and I love that they get that Easter can be celebrated ANYTIME!!

We had the best time yesterday making "resurrection buns"; recipe found here. So easy and fun!!

This morning we had an "Easter basket scavenger hunt". I googled the idea and found these clues here. I changed it up a bit since we didn't do the bunny, it was so fun!!

Happy Good Friday and early Easter!!
It is finished, and HE IS RISEN!!!

Weekend in Wimberly

A few weekends ago, Chuck and I got to take a short trip to Wimberly, TX. minus the kiddos! I love those girls, but man was it nice to get away for a little bit. I think I actually went about 53 hours without hearing the word mom, that was just enough time to miss it!!

Chuck has been wanting to visit Lockhart, the BBQ capitol of Texas, so we went to Black's Barbecue and had lunch on our way to Wimberly......no kids meals, sippy cups, crayons, or baby wipes in tow!! (and yet we still managed to make a mess)

We stayed at a B&B called A Wind in the Cedars, it was so perfect for a nice, relaxing weekend, I would recommend it to anyone! You can see more pictures here.

We pretty much did nothing while we were there, except eat and walk around and shop, it was perfect!

I told Chuck when he got his truck that I was going to put up the console and ride right next to him like we did in high school. I kept my word and rode next to him all the way there and back, he was pretty annoyed:))
Thanks to Nana, PawPaw and G-Maw for keeping those girls busy, busy, busy so mom and dad could relax a little!!
