Nothing says Texas like....

a field of bluebonnets!!

We tried to go to the same field we went to last year, and I'm not sure if we were just too late or if they didn't grow as well there this year, but it just looked like a field of weeds with some bluebonnets sprinkled in. We tried to make the best of it, but of course, kids will be kids, so here are some of what we got....

Wow, look at the difference in a year!!

It was hard to get any of the girls together or Allie by herself because Allie can't sit up on her own yet, and Gracie wasn't thrilled about holding her.

Experimenting with the tripod

When we were driving home, we saw two different fields with tons of cars parked there and families taking pictures, but we were already exhausted from trying to take the ones we got. Maybe next year Allie and Gracie will be able to run after each other and we can get some better pictures of the two of them.

First Tea Party

Gracie and Allie had their first "tea party" together this morning. It was hilarious....

First Gracie was thrilled that she had a guest (besides me)!

Trying to sit down and enjoy the tea. She couldn't figure out why Allie just wanted to throw everything on the floor.

"Here, let me help you."

Look at that face..... not quite the tea party she anticipated.

I'm sure there are many more to come. Allie relaxing after the stressful event.

Quote of the Day

I have a "quote of the day" app. on my phone, and today's quote was:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

I have heard it many times, and it always reminds me of these three moments...

June 5, 2004- The day I married my best friend

February 29, 2008-
The day I found out how it was possible to love someone so much that you just met.

November 23, 2009-
The day God confirmed to me that I could love another child as much as I love Gracie.

Just thought I'd share.

My New Gadget

My newest baby gadget came in today :)

Allie is not quite ready for "real" food yet, but I had to try it out to make sure it works. My guinea pig.....green beans left over from last night.

The finished product, and it only took me about 7 minutes from start to finish, this could be a very addicting hobby.

Of course Gracie had to try it, she'll try anything once.

Gracie's artwork from church today

Happy Wednesday!

"Handpockers"????

What are "handpockers" you might ask? Well, gloves, of course. I am not sure where she came up with that name, but everytime I hear it I crack up laughing!! Chuck has been using his "handpockers" (gardening gloves) to pull up some plants in the front yard, and Gracie started trying to put them on, so Chuck got her some Dora "handpockers" from Lowes..... Im cracking up just thinking about her saying it.

Oh.... what I would give for hours of mindless play. Filling up the watering can, pouring it out, filling it up again, on and on and on. I LOVE spring and summer, I can just open the back door and Gracie will be busy at play for hours...

Allie is really starting to hold herself in a sitting position with her hands out in front of her. Here she is practicing on Chuck's chest.

Have a wonderful week!

"Watcha Doin' ?"

Gracie always asks me the question, "Mom, watcha doin' ?" So when I asked her, she replied......

"just cooking mom"

ALWAYS SMILES!!- she loves the exersaucer!

Gracie LOVES when Chuck comes home early on week nights, they go outside and
"water" and feed the birds together.
