These girls think that their job is to make messes and my job is to clean them up! Gracie wanted to dance on the toy covered living room floor the other day and she asked me, "mom, will you please pick up this mess so I can dance?" Ummmmmmm, NO! Needless to say, we have been working on picking up after ourselves and cleaning up our own messes! We got out the finger paints yesterday, and Gracie FINALLY used her fingers to paint. She usually only wants to use the paintbrushes. We had to make sure there was water and a rag near by, she kept washing her hands to make sure the paint was going to come off, so skeptical :)
Allie has started figuring out how to use her fork. At first, she would just bang it on the tray until the fork stuck into something, then she would clap for herself. Now she intentionally puts the fork into the food and puts it in her mouth.
And finally, Chuck showed Gracie the "open your mouth and let me see if I can make it" game, so of course, that's all she wants to do at the dinner table now. I know, that's probably not the best manners to be teaching, but it keeps her at the table for a while and they have fun!
Gotta go clean up these messes now, hahaha!
