Rain, rain.... you know the rest :)

We didn't have gymnastics this week so my initial plan at the beginning of the week was to take Gracie swimming at the Y, but of course, the weather had other plans. So...... we decided to bring the water fun indoors today........

I just grabbed some towels that I was going to wash anyway and soaked it all up... Voila, a nicely mopped floor :)

Happy Birthday America!!

What a beautiful weekend it turned out to be to celebrate our country's birthday!! We had such a wonderful weekend filled with lots of fun activities so be prepared......

Chuck had off Friday through Monday for the holiday, and he is not one to "lounge" around the house (I think he gets jealous that I get to do all the fun stuff with the kids during the week), so we had lots to do!!

Friday and Saturday we were pretty much rained in, so we watched movies and played in the backyard between the storms.

On Sunday (the fourth) we took the girls to the mall to ride the carousel, play in the tree house, eat Frosties, then we went over to the fountains on Market Street. Somehow I only got pictures of us at the carousel and the food court..... I need my own paparazzi :)

Then on Monday we drove down to Kemah to ride a few rides and have lunch.

The Beach... and other random stuff

We made our first visit to the beach (with the kids) this past weekend while we were in Brazoria. We had some family in from Louisiana and they were camping at the campground by the beach, so we went out to visit with them and took the girls down to the beach.

It wasn't Destin (or Jamaica or Cabo), but it is only about an hour and a half drive, so it will do for now....

It was a very short trip, but just enough for the girls. One day we will take them to a "real" beach!

Me and Gracie made some cookies on Thursday after gymnastics......

She does NOT like to get her hands dirty, I don't know if she'll be able to hang with me in the kitchen....

Allie has started crawling pretty well, I hope to get a video up soon if I can figure out how to do it.

I know summertime is all about sunshine, but I really enjoy it when it is cloudy outside. We went out yesterday and the girls swang (is that even a word??) for a long time. It wasn't too hot, the wind was blowing, it was a very nice break from the heat!!
