Makin' Cakes

Gracie got this Play-Doh set for her birthday in February (thank you Aunt Leissa), and we put it away for a rainy day....since that isn't happening anytime soon, I thought a 105 heat index is just as good of a reason to play inside!

I don't think they actually ever made a cake, Gracie loved to make the "icing" once she figured it out:)
FUN!!

Moody Gardens

We decided to take a last minute road trip to Moody Gardens on Saturday. "Last minute" seems to be a re-occuring theme around here, but it's fun to listen and watch Gracie try and figure out where we are going by watching what we pack, I think she was convinced we were going to the beach:)
(**even though we have never taken her to the beach, that is a road trip we are definitely going to take before the summer is over!)

I sure hope they wash those 3-D glasses!!

Exhausting but FUN day!!

Happy 4th of July!!

Hope you had a great day with family and friends to celebrate our country's freedom!! We spent the day having fun in our new pool trying to beat the heat and enjoyed some hot dogs on the grill, FUN!!

*We went swimming over at our friends pool last week and Gracie had so much fun in their pool so we decided to get one for our yard, she LOVED it!!!

Don't forget to thank a soldier today!!

Take a second look

Usually when Gracie is drawing or coloring she will tell me, "look mom, I wrote my name." I will casually glance at it and say "wow, great job Gracie!" (even though it just looks like a bunch of lines to me:) This morning she was sitting by me coloring in a little notepad that Chuck brought her from work, I looked over at it and this is what I saw....

I asked her, "what did you draw?" and she replied, "uhhhhhh, my name" (like duh mom, can't you see it?) I took a second look, and this is what I saw....

Her name!!!! Minus the e, of course:) So glad for the little reminders to slow down and take time to see what they see, I almost missed this!!
